About Me.
Cruises can be surprisingly hard to get right.
Some look like great deals—but the ship feels dated or underwhelming. Others have beautiful ships—but weak itineraries that don’t make the most of where you’re going. And unless you know what to look for, it’s easy to miss the difference.
About Cherry.
Cherry loves cruising. Like… a lot.
She consumes cruise content and cruise rates for fun, casually tracks itineraries the way other people track shoes, and is almost always planning her next cruise — sometimes while she’s still on one.
But Cherry doesn’t cruise just to get away. She cruises to discover great itineraries — the kind that feel thoughtfully designed, well-paced, and actually worth your time. That’s why short 3–4 day cruises and cruises to nowhere have never really been her thing. If she’s committing time (and money), she wants the itinerary to deliver.
At some point, Cherry realized she wasn’t alone.
There were a lot of travelers just like her — people who cared about where a cruise goes, not just how cheap it looks. People who’d spend hours scrolling through listings, deck plans, and sailing dates, trying to figure out which cruises were actually worth booking.
So she started Cherry-Picked Cruises.
Cherry-Picked Cruises exists to do the filtering for you — highlighting cruise itineraries that are thoughtfully routed, well-paced, and good value, without the overwhelm. No endless scrolling. No random deals. Just cruises that make sense, chosen with intention.

Question 1:
What cabin do you usually book?
Interior—because it means I get to sail more 😄 But I’ll happily splurge on a balcony when the price and itinerary make it worth it.
Question 2:
What are your favorite types of itineraries?
The Baltics (ports close to city centers), the Mediterranean (my honeymoon!), and Argentina—especially sailing the Avenue of Glaciers. That one was unforgettable.
Question 3:
Favorite cruise ports?
St. Petersburg (I’d go back in a heartbeat), Barcelona (incredible food—best as a pre or post-cruise stay), and Tallinn (charming, medieval, and not overly touristy).
Question 4:
How do you approach shore excursions?
I usually plan my own. I prefer exploring on foot or using public transit, then looking at independent operators. Cruise excursions are usually my last option.
Question 5:
What’s your cruising philosophy?
Sail more, choose better. I’d rather take more trips with the right itinerary and value than overspend on the wrong one.
Question 6:
Where will we find you on a sea day?
Almost always the same rhythm:
-
Breakfast buffet in the morning
-
A craft session or trivia in the afternoon
-
Ping pong with my husband
-
Hot tub in the evening
-
Repeat, happily, almost every sea day.
